Hon’ble BJP National President and Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Chemicals & Fertilisers Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda met with Hon’ble President of the Republic of Angola, H.E. Mr. Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco

As part of the KNOW BJP initiative, Bharatiya Janata Party National President and Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilisers, Shri J.P. Nadda, met with the President of the Republic of Angola, H.E. Mr. Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco, in New Delhi today.

During the meeting, Shri Nadda congratulated President Lourenco on assuming the Chairmanship of the African Union and shared insights into the BJP’s organizational framework and ongoing activities, highlighting the party’s inclusive outreach to diverse communities. He also proposed initiating a delegation exchange between the BJP and the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) to strengthen mutual ties.

The conversation also focused on key healthcare initiatives of the Modi government, especially those aimed at empowering vulnerable groups, including women and children. Both leaders noted the steady advancement of India-Angola bilateral relations over the past decade and discussed opportunities for enhanced cooperation, particularly in the healthcare domain. Shri Nadda was accompanied by Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, In-charge of the BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department.

President H.E. Mr. Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco is currently on a state visit to India at the invitation of Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. This marks President Lourenco’s first-ever bilateral State Visit to India.
